Profile
Dr Bhadrashil Modi is an experienced Family Physician with over 30 years of clinical and healthcare leadership experience in South Africa and Australia. He holds a medical degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of South Africa. In addition, he completed an MBA with distinction at the University of Cape Town, with a focus on the private healthcare sector.
Dr Modi offers patient-centred, evidence-based care across all life stages—from young children to older adults. He has a strong interest in chronic disease management, particularly in diabetes care, cardio-vascular disease, asthma, and mental health, ensuring that patients receive compassionate, stigma-free care tailored to their medical and emotional needs.
He is also experienced in antenatal care, providing thorough support for expectant mothers through pregnancy, including routine monitoring, prenatal screenings, and counselling.
Dr Modi has a particular interest in skin cancer detection and treatment. He performs comprehensive skin checks, including biopsies and minor skin procedures such as excisions of lesions where appropriate, with a focus on early diagnosis and prevention.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Modi has held senior executive roles in private healthcare, including Chief Medical Officer at Discovery Health and Clinical Executive at Bankmed. He has served on several boards and committees, including Profmed Medical Scheme, the Southern African HIV Clinicians Society, and Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital. He has also contributed to academic teaching at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Now based in rural Queensland, Dr Modi is dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible care to the Kilcoy community and surrounding regions.
